Does it seem like Hello Kitty merchandise is everywhere you look? If so, it’s definitely not your mind playing tricks on you. The reason why it seems like the brand is everywhere is simply because it is. It’s true. Believe it or not, the brand has been around for nearly 40 years and got its start in Japan. The company that created it, Sanrio, quickly realized they had a winner on its hands and expanded the merchandising all around the globe. It’s almost hard to believe that the cute little bob tailed cat brings in over $1 billion in revenue for Sanrio each year. There is now so much merchandise based around this brand that it’s almost hard to keep track of. You can get branded jewelry, watches, and yes, there’s even Hello Kitty bedding. Although the brand is pretty much everywhere, it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Because it’s such a great money maker, it’s essentially here to stay.
